𝕽𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖎𝖊 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕳𝖔𝖗𝖓𝖊𝖉 This album is just a pure marvel, from start to finish ! There is not a single misstep ! Here we have a gem of Melodic Black Metal, with fast and aggressive riffs, as well as pounding drums, all enhanced by a powerful voice. Barely released at the start of the year, we can already classify it as AOTY contender. Nugget !

1.
One more act of courage, As if happiness was anything more than a brief respite from suffering, The natural state of being. And at my heels, all hell shall rise. Majestic, though in ruin. Beneath the wilted sun, I bear the weight of death. Vultures tear out my eyes as I carry my flesh and blood. In the gaping chasm of grief, I hurtle through the abyss. To reign where chaos dwells. A fair exchange for chaining Thanatos. Dwelling though in darkness, Woe fills my sights, But this abyss will yield, and crumble in my hands. As I fall towards a barren shore, Tempests of embers sear my eyes, As I watch black clouds obscure the sun as death descends, Once more. Once more... Once more And yet as I continue to sway, In this caustic breeze of nothingness, I lay on a bed of my own ashes. All around me tear out their eyes, Wishing to be blind in this godless pit. Become one with your suffering, Guided by internal light. I refuse to be forever fall’n. I shall bare the weight of Death.
2.
Gripped between, the shadowless abyss, And the blinding light of dead ideals. I am the fire within the circle. My acrid smoke mars a barren sky with ash, As I stumble amongst the desolate rocks on the bleak shores of purgatory. I crawl from the sulphurous maw, Scrambling up the charred slopes of perdition, Where nameless beasts subsist on dreams Abandoned in exchange for comfort. The path strewn with grinning corpses, Convinced they never wanted to reach the summit. A gaze at a tempestuous sky, Never to see another sunrise. The death of divine boundaries, As the abstractions of my mortality dissolve, Before bloodshot eyes, that have witnessed loss. Unnatural light strains through clouds of smoke To illuminate the pits below. Memories of the fires drive me ever higher. Rise or be forever Fall’n I shall melt your gilded cage, In implacable fires of retribution, And with it, forge a spear, To pierce the heart of comfort. Cracked skin meets stone, Bones ache under the strain, The boulder summits once more. I have been here before. Even as I fall back to the abyss from whence I came, I ready my Self to ascend once more. The climb never ends.
3.
Hurled from the golden walls, Ablaze with indignation I fall from the skye. Falling ever downwards. The descent never ends. Into the oceans of fire I plunge, As the ashes of dead gods, Burned at the stake of righteousness Fill my lungs. Illuminate my woe, O fires of black light! Here rest may never dwell, Eternally ruinous. The fall comes to an end, As I am cast, broken, upon this blighted shore. I make peace with Sin and Death, On my own wings I shall ascend. On the house of God, I sharpen weapons of war. I know that I must suffer, if I am to be free. Illuminate my woe, O fires of black light! Here rest may never dwell, Eternally ruinous. As I cast a baleful gaze, About the fiery gulf, And witness scenes of sorrow, ‘midst rolling smoke. I am not the only one fall’n, to be consumed by searing flames. There is no warmth left here, As I stride through the gates.
4.
I have burned the souls that nurtured compassion In the fires of grief. Aiming upwards, yet spiralling down, The necessity of suffering. At the seat of desolation, void of light, We dance in our chains. Unwearied decay. Perpetual death. In the catacombs of dead dreams, Cries of hope ring null. Amidst the pains of unheavenly fire, Calls to penance rend the soul. Engulfed in a searing numbness. Ashen horizon. Oblivion. I am Death. I am God. I am nothing. I am the antithesis of hope. Crushed beneath the weight, of weightlessness, I sanctify the soul. For what is hope without purpose? Platitude.
5.
In the shadow of the self, Lays the abyss of your own mind. For there the Serpent dwells, To disseminate the truth. Innate Divine, strangled in the darkness. Dragged into the light, It issues its primal call. Spoken in tongues of their own creation. Issued from the abyss, unknown to the Self. Out of the depths, they crawl. Ever upwards, to unseen heights, Destined to fall. But still the broken climb, Crying under harrowed skies. Lamenting the Divine, Knowing the alternative is worse. Out of the depths, they crawl. Ever upwards, to unseen heights, Destined to fall. Ignorance is worse than suffering from truth. Find that which can’t be found, hidden from you. Ever upwards, we shall climb, Lamenting the Divine. Inner calling, destined to fail, But an unlived life is worse. By our own standards we fail, Lamenting the Divine. Never to reach the unseen peaks, Built by our own hands.
6.
Ceaseless rebirth through Self-sacrifice, On an altar of my own making. Ascending to the lowest point. My failings are temporary. My victories absolute. My knees buckle under the weight of my sudden salvation. As I learn of Good and Evil, I witness Sin and Death striding across the abyss. I have killed God, Only to remake myself in my own image. But these tools of man are crude. No strike of the chisel is painless. These altars are hollow. My soul is now free. Flesh made stone. Forever, incomplete.
